For Shrimp Tacos

  • 1 1/2 lbs raw Jumbo Shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp oil your choice
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6-8 corn or flour tortillas your choice

Optional Toppings

  • avocado
  • cheese
  • additional cilantro and lime juice

For the Slaw

  • 2 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 2 cups shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 1/4 fresh cilantro finely diced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Freshly ground pepper


  • Mix together chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt in a bowl.
  • Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Toss the shrimp in a small bowl with the spice mix until well coated.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp to the hot pan and sauté for 5-8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until translucent and cooked through.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the ingredients of the slaw until combined.
  • Add cooked shrimp to tortillas and add seasoning and toppings to preference.
